John Metelsky is a veteran photojournalist, and a Silver Owl at the National Press Club. He served on the Publications Committee, and worked for over 40 years on the Club’s signature newsletter, the Record,where he served as a writer, editor, photographer, and photo coordinator. He chaired the committee during some off the most critical years of transition into new technologies, and oversaw the modernization of the Club’s internal processes from 2003 to 2008. He has won several Vivian Awards.
Steve O'Hearn has been a member of the National Press Club since 1998. He has been a magazine columnist, technical editor, and is the author of several books on the topics of Oracle technology. He served as an editor of the Record, the Club newsletter of the National Press Club, in a rotating capacity from 2002 to 2007. He joined the High Tech Committee in 2001, and became its vice chair in 2003, then its chair in 2004. He chaired the Online Journalism Awards subcommittee from 2004 to 2007, and the New Media Committee from 2006 to 2007. He currently serves as a member of the Joan Friedenberg Online Journalism Awards selection committee. He is a member a Mensa, as well as the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA).
