On September 30, 2010, National Press Club member and Chair of the Board of Governors Theresa Werner moderated an unusually complex appearance addressing the crucial mid-term 2010 elections. Typical NPC luncheons feature one speaker, followed by a period of question-and-answers; this appearance featured two key Congressional leaders: Senator Robert Menendez, Chair of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, and Senator John Cornyn, Chair fo the National Republican Senatorial Campaign Committee. Theresa moderated this tricky appearance with a grace and professional style that was refreshing and compelling.
Theresa is one of three candidates for Club president in a contested election that will be held this Friday, December 9, 2011, at the Club. Club members can vote any time this week by travelling to the Club, and requesting an absentee ballot in person, executing it, and turning it in right there on the spot.
